Tren Urbano Light Rail, Puerto Rico

K2 served as the Principal Scheduling Consultant for delay and acceleration analysis on the Tren Urbano Light Rail program in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the design/build contractor. K2 was responsible for preparation of delay and acceleration claims on four major sections of contracts of the Puerto Rico Highway and Transit Authority. K2 analyzed, evaluated, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule, and assessed the impact of design and construction changes and schedule slippages. K2 provided guidance and leadership to the client for the resolution of difficult cost control issues.

On the same Tren Urbano Light Rail Project, K2 performed forensic scheduling services for as-built schedule development and critical path time impact analysis. K2 provided analysis of cause and effect for various impact issues to aid in the determination of critical impacts, and assessed the impacts of multiple contract interfaces and commissioning conflicts. K2 developed graphical presentations demonstrating cause and effect of project impacts to delays and acceleration actually incurred in the field.

K2 supported the preparation of delay and acceleration claims on four major sections of the Tren Urbano project, and developed a comprehensive graphical presentation demonstrating the cause and effect of impact issues to field operations. Work included as-built schedule preparation, identification of cause and effect of issues to schedules, and forensic time impact analysis. K2 is expertly skilled in forensic scheduling and project data analysis. Through this process and with K2's programming capabilities, data is mined to find key insights, and assesses and analyzes impacts of delays to determine the validity of contractor claims.
