As Lead Scheduling Consultant/Planner for the Airport Authority, K2 has validated pre-program phasing and scheduling requirements for a multi-Billion dollar Airport Capital Improvement Program. This effort included phasing, sequencing and scheduling on eleven (11) different concepts developed by the Airport Authority as well as four (4) separate concepts developed by local communities. These concepts range from over $1B and four (4) years program duration to over $21B and thirteen (13) year duration. The various concepts include relocation and extension of runways and taxiways, addition and/or renovation of terminals and concourses, addition and renovation of central utility plant and parking structures, installation of an elevated and underground automated people mover system, additional baggage handling systems, completion of a complex inter-modal facility including passenger drop off and connection with Light Rail system, a consolidation of rent-a-car facility, construction of a new ARFF facility in addition to multiple enabling projects. K2 has developed a set of six (6) different complexity factors for each of the projects in the airport master plan, which are essential analytical tools in projecting cost and time impacts. K2's role will continue with validation of program and start-up scheduling.
